LCCG introduced a new tradition at the hospital this year, the Parent Roundtable Meeting.
It was a time for “Cake, Cocoa, and Community.”
Why These Conversations Matter
Beyond refreshments and fellowship, the Parent Roundtable creates something even more powerful: space. Space for parents and caregivers to speak freely, to vent without judgment, to share fears they often carry silently, and to find strength in one another’s stories.
Caring for a child with cancer can be isolating. Many parents suppress their own pain while staying strong for their children. These gatherings allow them to release that weight , to be seen, heard, and understood by others walking the same difficult path.
By nurturing this circle of support, we are building a community where parents uplift one another, exchange practical coping strategies, and rediscover hope together. Healing does not happen in isolation. It grows through connection, empathy, and shared experience and this is exactly what our Parent Roundtable is designed to provide.
This is not just a one-time event. We have committed to meeting twice a month to ensure that no parent feels they are walking this journey alone.
Behind every donation is a story of hope, and behind every cup of cocoa is a hand held in solidarity. Thank you for making January a month to remember.
