The Roman Ridge School community came together in a powerful display of hope and solidarity during a massive awareness walk that echoed through the streets. It was loud. It was a musical. It was joyful. And above all, it was a bold reminder that no child fights cancer alone.
For the second year running, the graduating Class of 2026 has committed to an ambitious and deeply compassionate goal: raising GHS 80,000 to support the treatment and care of children battling cancer.
This is humanity at its purest – children choosing to fight for other children.
On 7th February 2026, the students officially launched their project with a sponsored fundraising and awareness walk. Led by the upcoming graduating class, the Roman Ridge School community transformed the streets of Dzorwulu and Airport Residential Area into a vibrant wave of advocacy and compassion.
Students, parents, and faculty poured onto the streets not only to raise funds, but to educate the community about the early warning signs of childhood cancer, because awareness can save lives.
With the high-energy sounds of a brass band filling the air, students from both lower and upper grades marched with enthusiasm and purpose. Their message was clear: you are never too young to make a difference.
The funds raised will directly support the life-saving treatment and holistic care of children supported by Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Ghana. For many families, a childhood cancer diagnosis brings overwhelming emotional trauma and devastating financial strain. Treatment is largely out-of-pocket, and too often, parents are forced to navigate impossible choices while fighting to save their child’s life.
Because of the compassion and leadership of the Roman Ridge School Class of 2026, more children will receive critical medications, blood transfusions, nutritional support, transportation assistance, and psychosocial care. More families will feel supported. More children will have a fighting chance.
It is a movement of empathy. It is young hearts choosing to stand in the gap.
They are not just raising GHS 80,000. They are raising hope.
