Remembering Jason Mitchel

Our beautiful boy, Jason-Mitchel, came into this world with a light that touched everyone who knew him. From the very start, he was a spirited, gentle soul, polite, kind, and so full of life.
When Jason was just one year and three months old, we heard the words no parent should ever have to hear: leukemia. It was the beginning of a journey we could never have imagined. Jason faced everything! the hospital stays, the treatments, the pain with a strength and sweetness that amazed us every day.
In November 2022, when his cancer came back, we knew we had to do everything we could to give him another chance. With the help of our community, we raised the funds to take him to India. There, in December, he prepared for a bone marrow transplant, and on March 19, 2023, Jason received the gift of life from his own baby brother, who was just one year old at the time. We were overjoyed when the transplant was successful. Hope blossomed again, and we brought Jason home to Ghana to continue his recovery.
But life can be unbearably cruel. In November 2023, the cancer returned fierce and unrelenting. We travelled to Singapore, fueled by hope once more, seeking a clinical trial that might save him. But the doctors told us what no parent should ever hear: there was no cure left. The only thing left to do was to love him fiercely and keep him comfortable.
Jason passed away on April 1, 2024, cradled by the love of his family. He was just four years old.

Our Jason was more than his illness. He was a boy who loved life, who smiled even when he was tired, who said “thank you” to his nurses, and who taught us more about courage, faith, and love than we could ever teach him.

He is the reason we fight for all the children still battling cancer today, for every family longing for one more day, and for a future where no child has to go through what Jason did.
We miss him every moment. But we carry his spirit with us, always.

Our Mission

Our mission is to optimize access to the best possible care for all children affected by cancer in Ghana, ensuring that no such child suffers needlessly

What We Do;

We mobilize resources to support the treatment and care of children with cancer and their families. Every donation helps provide lifesaving treatments and support systems.

Access to quality medical care is critical. We work tirelessly to ensure children receive the best possible treatment, including effective palliative care, to improve their quality of life.

Accurate diagnosis is the first step towards treatment. We advocate for high-quality diagnostic and treatment facilities across Ghana, ensuring every child has access to necessary medical services.

Childhood cancer awareness saves lives. We educate the public about early detection and the importance of timely medical intervention, breaking down stigmas and misconceptions.

We invest in training healthcare workers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed for early detection and treatment of childhood cancers.
