LCCG joined the Ministry of Health, national leaders, survivors, and partners at the 2025 National Cancer Forum to help shape a stronger, more equitable future for cancer prevention and treatment in Ghana.
Held from November 18–19, 2025, under the theme “Transforming Cancer Care in Ghana: A Roadmap for Sustainable Prevention, Early Detection, Equitable Treatment, and Resilient Systems,” the forum marked the Ministry of Health’s first national platform dedicated entirely to cancer care.
The gathering brought together a broad coalition of stakeholders including pharmaceutical companies, regional health directors, clinicians, academia, CSOs/NGOs, government agencies, traditional and religious leaders, and even herbal and alternative therapy practitioners. Its purpose: to promote greater cooperation and strengthen national cancer control programmes.
Key roadmaps emerging from the forum included:
- Reviewing Ghana’s 5-year National Cancer Strategic Plan (2012–2016)
- Increasing domestic financing for cancer programmes
- Expanding diagnostic and treatment capacity nationwide
The forum provided an essential opportunity to address systemic gaps, align industry and health priorities, and drive forward a unified response to the rising burden of cancer. As always, LCCG stood firm in ensuring that the often-silenced voices of children battling cancer were heard, valued, and represented.
