Stella’s journey began with excruciating pain in her legs, which soon spread to her waist. The pain was so intense that it would wake her family up at night, and her health rapidly deteriorated, leaving her unable to walk, eat, or drink. Her mother, Joyce, was filled with fear and worry as they navigated the unknown.
After several hospital visits, Stella was referred to the pediatric oncology ward at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where she began chemotherapy treatment. It was there that Joyce saw the words “Donated by LCCG” on Stella’s hospital bed, and the reality of her daughter’s diagnosis sank in.
